David Romeo was born and raised in a small community in Massena, New York. He played ice hockey and golf from the age of four until he graduated high school. David moved to Volusia County in 1986 to attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and, subsequently, graduated in 1990. He continues to follow Embry Riddle Athletics and other local sports.
David became a resident of Ormond Beach in 1997. He is engaged to Marisa Tenaglia and is actively involved in their church and the school communities of his children. He has volunteered as a basketball, soccer, baseball and ice hockey coach for his sons for many years. David also received an appreciation certificate from the American Red Cross for his assistance on their 2006/2007 annual report for Florida’s Coast-to-Coast Chapter. As a volunteer, he spearheaded the design and manufacturing of several water purification systems for a number of third world countries including: Africa, Iraq, Haiti and the American Virgin Islands. David has also worked closely with the NKH Foundation, PROJECT SPLASH, of Ormond Beach. This project brought a membrane system to a village in Western Uganda. David is a former member of Florida Marketing International, Inc. of Ormond Beach. FMI received the Award for the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America.
David served on the Board of Directors for the VMA (Volusia Manufacturers Association). One of the VMA committees over which he led, designed and implemented the Lou Fifer Education Fund Golf Tournament which has continued since 2011. Since its inception, this yearly event has contributed over $200,000 to local education. In 2011, Mr. Romeo was awarded the Karen Schillar “Member of the Year” award by the VMA for his service and dedication to the association.
David is the supervisor over the Sales and Marketing Department at Miller-Leaman, Inc., a manufacturing company of water filtration systems, located in Daytona Beach. Working at Miller Leaman, Inc. has afforded David many opportunities to travel within the United States and to other countries where he has gained valuable knowledge in conservation of water in industrial and municipal markets. As an employee of Miller-Leaman, Inc., David has the pleasure of participating in the annual conferences of the American Heating and Refrigeration Association, the Water Environment Federation, the Water Expo and the Irrigation Association.
On the weekends, you can find David with his family and friends on a boat, golfing, in the kitchen or meandering through local nature trails.
